6th Annual Travelwise Seminar 2011
Held at the
Hilton Hotel in Auckland
Safety City was invited to join the team from Auckland Transport at the Annual Travelwise Awards and we were given the opportunity to showcase the Walk it Bike it Board games and Run the ‘It’s in the Boot Road Show.’
It was a fantastic day with eighty eight schools across the Auckland Region in attendance. We were able to watch teams of children from different schools throughout Auckland give a 15 minute presentation of their own road safety, walkway and travel ideas and messages. Each team had spent many hours creating extremely well thought out presentations and the ideas they had come up with were truly amazing.

I really would not like to have been one of the judges for this competition as the presentations were really fantastic. Well done to all the children and teachers who were involved in the Travelwise awards.
After a well earned break and a great lunch all the children were able to be involved in a fun workshops. All the children had the opportunity to play our road safety ‘Walk it Bike it’ board game. It was great to see the kids really having fun with the game.
The fabulous Joe Holley was the official MC for the day and also ran our road show
‘It’s in the boot’. Joe was so funny she had everyone in fits of laughter.
Alison Johns and her team from Auckland Transport did an amazing job of running the Awards. Their dedication to road safety education is outstanding. Thank you for inviting Safety City to participate in such an important event.
